Frequently Asked Questions

Applying

What do I need to apply?

Strong spoken English, a computer with a stable internet connection, and a headset. Teaching experience and certifications strengthen your application but are reviewed case by case.

Do I need a TESOL / TEFL certificate?

A certificate is not an absolute requirement, but it significantly strengthens your profile and helps you stand out to students.

How long does the review take?

Our team reviews applications one by one — usually within a few business days. You can track the status in your dashboard at any time.

Can I change my application after submitting?

Right after submitting you have a short window to withdraw it yourself. If the review asks for changes, you can edit the relevant sections and resubmit.

Are there any fees to apply or to teach?

No. Applying, training and teaching on TeachSlot are free. We never ask teachers for application fees, training fees or deposits — if anyone claiming to be TeachSlot asks you to pay, please report it to contact@teachslot.com.

Who operates TeachSlot?

TeachSlot is operated by DeepWave Technology Limited, a company incorporated in Hong Kong. You can look up the company on the Hong Kong Companies Registry.

Scheduling & Teaching

How do I set my teaching hours?

Your availability is a weekly calendar of short slots. Switch any slot on or off, and students can only book the slots you have opened.

What if I need time off?

Use single-day leave to close specific hours on a specific date without touching your weekly template. You can also open extra hours for a single day.

What happens when a student books me?

You get a notification and confirm or decline within the response window. Confirmed classes appear in your course list with all the details.

Which meeting tool do classes use?

Your choice of Zoom, Google Meet, ClassIn, VooV Meeting, or DingTalk. Configure your tools once; the platform shares the right link with your student before class.

What if the student doesn’t show up?

Mark the class accordingly in the platform. Attendance is handled by clear platform rules, so a student no-show never becomes a dispute between you and the student.

Earnings & Withdrawals

How do I earn money?

You earn from ₱80 for each completed 25-minute class, and performance bonuses can raise your average to as much as ₱120 per class. Each completed class credits your account balance, and your dashboard keeps a full ledger of classes, hours, and balance changes. Class fees are settled once a week and bonuses once a month.

How do I withdraw?

Add a payout account, then submit a withdrawal request from your dashboard. Requests are reviewed and paid to your chosen account; you can cancel a request while it is still pending.

Which payout methods are supported?

GCash, PayMaya, and bank cards, with more options over time.

Are there bonuses beyond class pay?

Yes. With bonuses, your average can reach up to ₱120 per class. Bonus programs are tied to your rolling 30-day and 90-day teaching metrics, and the teacher level system recognizes long-term consistency — with your per-class rate protected.

How do I sign up or log in?

I signed up with Google — do I need a password?

No. Google sign-in is all you need. You can manage the Google binding from your account settings after logging in.

How will I know when someone books me?

You get notifications in the platform, and you can bind Telegram to receive instant booking alerts on your phone.
